Who controls the data
The Morsdei project team controls personal data collected through morsdei.com. Current operator details and contact limitations are described in the Legal notice.
Data we collect
- Newsletter: email address, selected site language and subscription timestamp.
- Abuse prevention: the subscriber service uses an IP address in server memory to limit repeated requests. Those entries expire from the active rate-limit window after one hour and are not written into the subscriber file.
- Server logs: normal web-server logs may include IP address, request time, requested path, response status, referrer and browser user-agent. The server is configured for daily rotation with 14 retained rotations.
Why we use it
Newsletter data is used with your consent to send occasional Morsdei lore, development notes, printable material or playtest information. Technical logs and short-lived rate-limit data are used for security, reliability and abuse prevention.
Cookies and analytics
The current site does not set analytics, advertising or preference cookies and does not run a third-party analytics product. Ordinary browser or hosting behaviour outside the site's control may still apply when you follow an external link.
Local profile and rules
The Account and modular Rules pages may store a display name, preferred language and selected rules modules in this browser's local storage. This information remains on the device, is not transmitted to Morsdei and can be removed from the Account page. It is separate from the newsletter record.
Retention
Newsletter records are retained until you withdraw consent, request deletion or the mailing list is closed. Server logs are rotated daily and kept for 14 rotations. Rate-limit entries are used within a one-hour window. Backups may temporarily preserve deleted records until the relevant backup expires.
Sharing and transfers
Personal data is not sold and is not shared for advertising. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical data solely to operate and secure the site. The Instagram link leads to an independent third-party service with its own privacy terms.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct or delete your newsletter record, withdraw consent or object to processing where applicable. Until a dedicated privacy mailbox is published, send the request through the official Morsdei Instagram account and identify the subscribed email address. Do not post the address publicly.
Children
The newsletter is not intentionally directed to children. The optional local display name is not sent to Morsdei or used to identify a visitor.
Changes
Material changes will be posted on this page with a new update date. New data-collecting features, including any future AI input, require an updated notice before launch.
